"Observe this extensive work. See this mass destruction," a combatant shouts.

He grins as he directs the camera on himself and his associate fighters, their Rapid Support Forces identification clearly shown: "The victims will all be killed this way."

These individuals are rejoicing over a mass killing that humanitarian officials fear claimed the lives of over 2,000 people in the African city of the Darfur city during October.

An Urban Center Isolated from the Globe

Having held the city under blockade for almost an extended period, from late summer the RSF proceeded to consolidate its position and restrict the leftover civilian population.

Orbital photography demonstrate that fighters started to construct a massive earth barrier - a raised earthen wall - around the edges of el-Fasher, closing roads and preventing humanitarian assistance.

While the blockade worsened, multiple civilians were murdered in an RSF assault on a place of worship on 19 September, while the UN stated 53 more were murdered in unmanned aircraft and cannon strikes on a makeshift community in fall.

By sunrise on October 26th the RSF defeated the final military strongholds and captured the central compound in the urban area, the main facility of the Military Unit, as the military withdrew.

Perhaps the most disturbing recordings to emerge and analysed showed the consequences of a massacre at a educational facility on the western of the community, where scores lifeless forms were observed scattered over the floor.
