Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
